Learn How to make Masala Poori or Tikhat Poori/Puri
Today we are making Masala Poori which are also known as
tikhat poori/puri.Its a famous Maharatrian dish combined with dough and some
other spices which makes it flavorful,Spicy and an ultimate snack for tea
time,lunch box and train journeys.If you are travelling ,going for a picnic you
can easily prepare them.Kids love these pooris ,you can serve them with jam or
any sookhi sabzi.You can store them in a container when they are warm ,with
this their softness will remain the same.
Ingredients Required to Make Masala Poori/Tikhat Puri
Wheat flour 1 Cup
Gram flour(Besan) 2 Tablespoons
Redchilli Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Cumin powder 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Dry fenugreek leaves 1 tsp
Crushed Carrom Seeds (Ajwain) ½ Tsp
Chopped green chillies 2
Few chopped mint leaves
Ghee (Clarified butter) 2 tablespoons
Water to knead the dough
Oil for frying
Method of Making Masala Puri
Step 1:- Take a bowl or Paraat Add Wheat flour,Gram
flour,redchilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder,salt Carrom seeds,dry
fenugreek leaves,green chillies,mint leaves,turmeric powder and ghee mix
everything well
Step 2:- Now add little water and knead a hard dough out of
it (No soft dough like roti or chapati)
Step 3:- When its done cover the dough and let it rest for
15 minutes
Step 4:- After 15 minutes take small portion of the dough
make a ball press it
Step5:- Apply little oil on rolling base with your
finger,and roll the dough in to 3-4 inch diameter
Step 6:- Prepare all the pooris like that and deep fry them on
high flame from both the sides till they turn golden brown in color
Step7:- Serve these pooris/Puris with Sookhi
sabzi,chai(tea),Raita,Pickle (Achaar) or just like that
